Good Saturday and welcome to a surge of summer air. Temps over the next few days will feel more like early June than the middle of April. I doubt anyone will be complaining of that coming out of the winter we just had. Speaking of winter… it’s trying to throw one more jab our way for the week ahead.
Let’s start with the good stuff and that’s what we have out there now. Highs today will reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees for most areas. There is still enough juice to spark a stray storm or two. Track away…
Current temperatures
Thermometers for Sunday will head toward the lower 80s with a gusty southwesterly wind. This will set the stage for a strong cold front to enter the picture on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely. Some of the storms may be strong or severe.
The air coming in behind this front is pretty darn cold and could could meet up with leftover moisture to produce some flakes of snow. The GFS has joined the spring bashing party…
It’s a small chance we would see some snow from this, but the chance is there nonetheless. We also may see temps going below freezing for a couple of mornings into the middle of next week.
Check out how much of the country is expected to be below normal next week…
Have a great Saturday and take care.
ugh. no. thank. you. #readyforhothumidweather
I know I am one lonely voice of dissent, but I am not ready for hot, humid weather. I miss winter already. Not that anything or anyone has control of it. I shouldn’t even comment. Will just be told I’m crazy and should move to Alaska.
I am right there with you…give me a cool. wet summer and not the hot, humid, soul draining, energy stifling summers of the recent past. Just hard to enjoy. Yet, Alaska is in change too!
I’m on the same train as y’all!
Same here.Anything over 75 and I don’t like it.I know its been a long winter but the 40s,50s,and 60s are perfect for me.I even like winter as long as it doesn’t stay in the teens or near zero for days at a time.Just a few weeks with highs in the 60s and low 70s would be wonderful.Comfortable without AC.Just can’t deal with bad humidity and heat.
Yeah I know Chris is probably thinking ‘Does nothing make these people happy.’ [:^)
Give me a warm summer with just enough rain to water crops and prevent drought. 80s in daytime and upper 50s at night is good.
Love today’s weather, spring is finally here, I will sleep through Tuesday and get ready for the next warm spell! Go away cold, cloudy, clammy, today feels like Miami 😉
If you want summers that usually get no hotter than today, try Canada. 😉
For what its worth, I spent the day at a booth at Thunder over Louisville. Temp hit 80, but with a dewpoint hovering around 50 and a nice breeze, it felt great! I have a disdain for humid weather (dewpoints 65 or more) but 80’s and 40’s and 50’s dewpoint is about as good as it gets in the Lower Ohio Valley.
Agree, today’s is about is good as it gets in KY!
For those folks wanting winter to come back after what most us have been thru the last 6 months really need to consider a move to Alaska or northern Canada!!
