Good Saturday and welcome to a surge of summer air. Temps over the next few days will feel more like early June than the middle of April. I doubt anyone will be complaining of that coming out of the winter we just had. Speaking of winter… it’s trying to throw one more jab our way for the week ahead.

Let’s start with the good stuff and that’s what we have out there now. Highs today will reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees for most areas. There is still enough juice to spark a stray storm or two. Track away…

Current temperatures

Thermometers for Sunday will head toward the lower 80s with a gusty southwesterly wind. This will set the stage for a strong cold front to enter the picture on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely. Some of the storms may be strong or severe.

The air coming in behind this front is pretty darn cold and could could meet up with leftover moisture to produce some flakes of snow. The GFS has joined the spring bashing party…

GFS 3 GFS 2 It’s a small chance we would see some snow from this, but the chance is there nonetheless. We also may see temps going below freezing for a couple of mornings into the middle of next week.

Check out how much of the country is expected to be below normal next week…

Have a great Saturday and take care.
