Good Thursday everyone. We are one step closer to the weekend in what is already a shortened work week after our Memorial Day Weekend. Thunderstorms have been dancing about the area just about every day for the past week or so and that trend is going to continue.

Thunderstorm clusters have a mind of their own and are impossible to nail down where they will form and where they will go until we actually see them on radar. That will be the case once again today as a front sags a little farther south toward the region. This should force the storms to be a bit farther south than what we saw Wednesday. As a matter of fact… this boundary will likely lead to several clusters moving over the same areas today. This will increase the chances for local high water problems… especially if you had storms in recent days.

Just like Wednesday… a few of these storms could go severe with high winds and hail as a possibility. Here are your friendly radars to track all the action…

This front will also hang around into Friday with more scattered showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon and evening hours.

The weekend will find us watching the northwestern skies for the potential for clusters of thunderstorms to come rolling southeastward toward our region. This type of a setup can sometimes lead to some of these clusters going gangbuster in terms of severe weather and heavy rains. So… we will need to be aware of that into the weekend as well.

I wish I could be more specific in terms of who is going to get what… but we are dealing with thunderstorms that go up randomly across the region. Give me forecasting snow any day of the week as I can get much more specific with the white stuff!

I will update things as needed so make sure to check back. Have a great Thursday and take care.
