Good Sunday to one and all. We made it through our Saturday with a mostly dry day across the region as temps warmed well into the 80s again. The dry weather isn’t going to last as the threat for showers and storms will ramp up big time over the next few days. This includes Memorial Day as storms will likely become fairly widespread.

Today will feature more warm and humid weather as showers and storms begin to increase once again… especially across central and western Kentucky.  Locally heavy rains will be possible and you can track the storms here…

Showers and storms will become widespread Monday and will likely lead to heavy rains that can cause local high water problems. A similar setup will carry us into Tuesday as well and you can see how this all plays out here on the GFS…

Monday Evening

Tuesday Afternoon

Again… watch the threat for heavy rains over the next few days.

Looking farther down the road…

– A surge of heat will move our way for Wednesday. Temps may surge toward 90.

– A VERY strong front will move in Thursday and bring the threat for severe storms with it.

– Once the front goes through… expect a big temp drop by Friday.

– The pattern next weekend should see a monster heat ridge setting up out west. The overall setup may lead to clusters of storms diving in our way from the northwest.

Have a great and safe Sunday and take care.
