Good Tuesday to one and all. A weak little system will be crossing the Tennessee Valley today and bring a a few showers into our southern counties. For most… this will only be a brush with the rains. For those wanting to get in on a little more active weather pattern… this weekend offers some hope as I see our best chance for showers and thunderstorms in a long time.

As mentioned… areas across the far south and southeast will see some showers rolling through later today into the evening hours. A few of this will try to move a smidge farther to the north… especially this evening in the east. You can track the showers here…

Highs today will climb well into the 60s and may flirt with 70 for those who get enough sunshine.

Wednesday will see a mix of sun and clouds with only a small threat for a shower. Highs will be near 70. The same can be said for Thursday as temps inch up a few more degrees.

A storm system across the plains will gather strength and push a warm front northeastward across the region. Showers and thunderstorms will likely develop along this front as it lifts through. You can see this on the GFS…

Friday Evening

Warm and unstable air moves in for the weekend and will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms to this part of the world. The setup is one that can produce some severe weather and heavy rains. Take a look at what the GFS shows this weekend…

Saturday Afternoon

Saturday Night

That plains low will likely get pinched off from the main flow leading to it SLOWLY working through here into early next week. That would lead to a continuation to some rounds of showers and thunderstorms into Sunday and Monday.

Again… that is the best looking pattern for showers and thunderstorms of the entire spring. If that system doesn’t give us some good rains… it just ain’t happening for us this spring.

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
