Good Tuesday to one and all. It continues to look more and more like winter is getting a super duper early head start out of the gate this year. We’ve already had our first snow and now it looks like the temperatures are about to tank. Several cold blasts will be noted over the next few weeks and they are likely to be joined by some snow chances.
Before we get to all that, we have a windy and mild Election Day across Kentucky. Clouds will increase and showers will likely push into the west before the day is over.
Rain will increase from southwest to northeast overnight into Wednesday. I can’t rule out a few rumbles of thunder as the rain becomes heavy at times. A few areas could pick up close to an inch of rain out of this.
That action takes us into Thursday as another system dives in from the northwest. This means temps fall during the afternoon and evening as colder air sweeps in. This air isn’t as cold as what we just had, but it may be just cold enough to produce some flakes Thursday night into Friday…
Another fast moving system sweeps in by Saturday with gusty showers and a late day temp crash. This will give us a better chance for some snow showers from Saturday night into Sunday…
Check out the high temps from the GFS on Sunday…
Those numbers are just a little below normal…
That leads us into what is likely to be a week filled with arctic air…
If you’re a fan of early season fun and games… this is the pattern for you!
Updates come your way later today, so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
What is your thoughts on southern Illinois. When do u think southern Illinois could see its first snow and do u think southern Illinois could see a big snow anytime soon. Thanks

I hope this all continues into December … I know they are times when we have a cold November and then it kinda gets mild for December.
Thanks Chris, I enjoy the mid day updates.
