Good Friday everyone. We are ending the work week just like we started it… soggy. The soggy conditions will be with us as we kick off the weekend and is likely a sign of things to come over the next several days. All is not lost with our weekend weather as some dry hours are likely.

Let’s break it all down for you…

– A swath of rain and some embedded thundershowers will continue to push eastward across the state on this first day of fall. Locally heavy downpours are a good bet for many.

– We will slowly shut off the steady rains from west to east this afternoon into the evening. High school football action could still see a shower or some drizzle. Highs today will stay in the 60s for many.

– The big closed upper level low will continue to work into the Ohio Valley this weekend. The low appears to want to initially set up across the western part of the region. That is where the best threat for widespread rains will be into Saturday and Saturday night. Central and eastern Kentucky will see more of a scattered shower threat during this time.

This upper low will then slowly move eastward on Sunday. Rains will increase from west to east as one of those “spokes” I talked about in the last post swings in. Thunder?

– This axis of rain will continue to slowly push across the central and east Monday into early Tuesday as the west sees more scattered stuff.

– Temps during this time will generally run in the 60s for highs. Any day that has mainly rainy skies outside your house can stay in the upper 50s. Any day that features some sun can make a run at 70. Sometimes it really is that simple!

– The low will then begin to FINALLY open up and move away by Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Temps will begin to warm closer to normal by this time.

On a blog note. I will have an announcement later today or Saturday about an exciting new media partnership for the blog. Fun times ahead.

In the meantime… let’s track some weather…
