Good evening, friends. I have no changes to my earlier thoughts on where we stand with respect to the snow potential for late Friday into early Saturday. The map I made earlier still stands…
How much can we get out of this kind of setup? I’m not ready to even speculate on that at this point because of the variables involved.
The latest from the WPC continues to place eastern Kentucky in the 4″ snow risk for Friday night and early Saturday…
I will have a full update later tonight. Enjoy your evening and take care.
hmmmm…very little new info …..I dunno if that’s a good thing or a bad thing
I think Chris is just being extra cautious. He gets tired of the complaining we do too when the snow doesn’t appear. So as much as I want to see a good snow, I refuse to complain about the lack of it anymore. Thanks for the update Chris, and for all you do.
Thanks Chris . Fingers crossed for southern KY !
I look forward to your updates every day. I thank you for all you do.
Hopefully all of the snow whiners will be satisfied. Would give us a couple of days break from the “tragedy” that this winter has thrust upon us.
To Bill Brasky!!! He once punched a hole in a cow to see who was coming up the road!!
Complaining about complaining without feeling like a complainer.
Remember, you aren’t “in” traffic, you “are” traffic.
Wait, now I’ve inadvertently complained about a complainer who’s complaining about the complaining. Whoa dude, this is so meta right now.
Like
More of event in the eastern states, than cky.
But here’s for hoping
Marginal temp profile for this. Don’t get the shovels out yet.
The latest NAM has come in weaker. Big shock, right?
this event was going to be a melting snow anyway.
at least moisture is returning to the state at a better clip.
I couldn’t be more shocked if Charles Manson was eating a bowl of fruit loops on my front porch.
Being selfish, I just want it to be 2″ to 3″ so half of my wimpy outlook can be realized. I have very low goals 🙂
I have been a KYWC blogger since the moment Chris launched this project, and I have always kept my thoughts to myself concerning the oftentime overpowering sense of negativity on display in this sacred and hallowed comments section. I would like to offer tonight, that for once, it would be absolutely epic for everyone to be stoked when we get what we ask for. Two days ago the discontent revolved around the lack of snow talk… today there’s snow talk, but now the discontent has shifted to models and temps that will most definitely let us down again. Find something to get amped about. There’s plenty more out there to get pumped about than snow, models, and temperature gradients. I’ve expended my word quota for 2015. Let it snow!
Dude, if we get enough snow, I’ll be out there making grown @ss man snow angels with zero shame.
At this point, I’m psychologically pumped because it looks great to see several consecutive days of snow potential on the WKYT extended banner.
However, emotionally I am well aware of that trusting what’s supposed to fall out of the sky is a fool’s errand.
I’m going to do what I usually do, take the final call forecast and compare it to what actually happens where I live. No politics, no fanboi crap, no ‘hatin’, no nuthin’ ‘cept the facts.
If we end up getting nothing, well, look on the bright side at our great opportunity for deflated football references. 🙂
The football was set in place, but unfortunately the person who sat it there didn’t see me sneak in, stick super glue all to the end of it and then sit it back down on the base. Draw your own conclusions about what will and won’t happen with that one. *evil laugh*
And deflated the ball too 😉
You know we are at a new level of Meh when we are excited about TALKING about snow instead of it actually happening. Wowsers!
Maybe we can jump into a time-warp where we get excited about getting excited about getting excited about talking about snow. Does anyone else hear an echo?
Sorry to burst your bubble End, but if the 00Z NAM is a precursor of things to come; this storm is either torching; or drying up. We’ll see what the GFS (lol), Canadian and the Euro have to say.
The Euro this late in the game is a non factor. Go with GFS and NAM
Nothing to see here folks…..except i think i just saw charles manson at kroger buying milk for his fruit loops and looking up Prelude’s address on his iphone
If mets get commissions from local grocery stores, they will be a tad low on funds this season. 😉
This is all getting too weird. I’m going to bed. Good night everyone.
Some local mets are pulling the snow carpet our from underneath Louisville’s feet….not even in the possible ‘trace’ category…..
hey Bailey what happen to the COLD AIR that was coming???tx ole buddy
Well to me the snows that fall and give a few inches but melt the next day because temps will be in the 40s are not as exciting to me…..which is what this storm is forecast to be in some areas…….but I’m totally loving the chances of more moisture and a little activity in the pattern at least.
I hope my comment wasn’t *TOO* negative 😀
