Good Tuesday to one and all. The blog is issuing the first every 80 DEGREE WATCH for the region for later this afternoon. Many areas will likely see temps top out just above the magical mark for the first time in several days. Even though we will be several degrees warmer than recent days… temps will still be below normal today.

Follow the temp watch here…

Current Temps

There is also the chance for a few showers or storms trying to develop across the eastern part of the state. This was an area that saw thunderstorms dump some big time hail Monday afternoon.

We cannot get too used to today’s low 80s as Wednesday is likely to be another very cool day as showers and thunderstorms increase from west to east. The NAM looks to have a good handle on things…

Locally heavy rains will be with us during this time. Highs Wednesday will likely be in the 70s yet again. Will it be low 70s or upper 70s? That all depends on when the clouds and rain get into your part of the world. Either way… it will be a cool and damp day overall.

Some scattered showers and storms will be around for Thursday and Friday with highs in the low 80s. A cold front will sweep toward us later in the day Saturday bringing a better chance for showers and boomers. This front should also bring another round of cooler than normal temps (not that any day before it will be above normal). This trough should really begin to deepen next week. Check out how deep this is showing up on the European Model…

Not only does that say next week stays below normal… it also says we are going into a wet period to close out the month and I agree with it.

Today marks my last day filling in at WKYT… at least for this go around. It has been fun catching up with everyone again and getting back to the place I called home for nearly 11 years.

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
