Good Tuesday to one and all. The blog is issuing the first every 80 DEGREE WATCH for the region for later this afternoon. Many areas will likely see temps top out just above the magical mark for the first time in several days. Even though we will be several degrees warmer than recent days… temps will still be below normal today.
Follow the temp watch here…
Current Temps
There is also the chance for a few showers or storms trying to develop across the eastern part of the state. This was an area that saw thunderstorms dump some big time hail Monday afternoon.
We cannot get too used to today’s low 80s as Wednesday is likely to be another very cool day as showers and thunderstorms increase from west to east. The NAM looks to have a good handle on things…
Locally heavy rains will be with us during this time. Highs Wednesday will likely be in the 70s yet again. Will it be low 70s or upper 70s? That all depends on when the clouds and rain get into your part of the world. Either way… it will be a cool and damp day overall.
Some scattered showers and storms will be around for Thursday and Friday with highs in the low 80s. A cold front will sweep toward us later in the day Saturday bringing a better chance for showers and boomers. This front should also bring another round of cooler than normal temps (not that any day before it will be above normal). This trough should really begin to deepen next week. Check out how deep this is showing up on the European Model…
Not only does that say next week stays below normal… it also says we are going into a wet period to close out the month and I agree with it.
Today marks my last day filling in at WKYT… at least for this go around. It has been fun catching up with everyone again and getting back to the place I called home for nearly 11 years.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.

If today is your last day then TG must be feeling a bit better. Glad to hear it, but sorry to lose you. This summer is so chilly my tomatoes are having a hard time ripening!
Awwww, Chris. Caught you on the air last evening! It has been good to see your face on KYT again! But, by the same token, it will be good to see TG back, as that will mean he is feeling better. OF course we know that your “new” fans have been missing you, too! 😉
As far as the weather goes, we do need to get some hotter days, as our tomatoes are having a hard time ripening, too! I have enjoyed the cooler, and less humid temps, but, hey, it’s summer! This weather makes me want to sit donw and watch a football game! (It’s not that far away, you know!)
Anyway, it has been good to have you back for a few days. Looking forward to seeing you on tonights forecasts before you head back out to Ashland.
Come see us ANYTIME! I am sure that TG would share with you again from time to time! 😀
Chris,
I have really enjoyed seeing you again. We wish there was some way that you and TG could work at WKYT at the same time.
Your face is always a welcomed site. You are loved and appreciated in central KY. Glad TG is out of the hospital and feeling better.
Take care and God Bless you both!
Great to see you back at WKYT. You look right at home. TG must be feeling better and soon to return. The really bad part of your visits is that someone has to be sick. Sure do wish that you were back, but then someone wouldn’t have a job. My what a problem!
Chris-
I too have enjoy your return to WKYT. I feel the way a lot of the bloggers here wishing you would return to Central Kentucky. I almost entirely depend on your weather predictions as often I am not in front of my T.V. when T.G. is on air. Maybe one day you and T.G. will be back together again at WKYT. We continue to miss you!
Enjoyed the absolutely gorgeous weather back home in Lily today. I miss 80 degrees, we haven’t seen it much in the mountains of WV this year.
Chris,
Sorry that I had to miss you this week. My husband passed away about 6 weeks ago and my sons and I are on a little trip to the Smokies trying to clear our minds and get ready for school. Hopefully you will get a chance to come back again in the future. Glad T.G. is feeling better though. has anyone heard from Patty lately?
