Good Saturday everyone and thanks for all you do for the blog. I appreciate each and everyone of you! It is finally to the weekend and we are seeing another soggy Saturday taking shape for most of the area.
Friday saw numerous showers and storms form across many areas. Some even went severe and put down some locally heavy rains prompting some Flash Flood Warnings!
It is today that will likely feature the greatest chance for heavy rains that can cause some more high water concerns. The atmosphere is very juicy and with a cold front moving through… is just waiting to produce some heavy rain producing showers and thunderstorms so please keep an eye on the streams today. Here is the radar for your tracking pleasure…
There is also the chance we could see a few more strong storms go up later today. Here is the Storm Prediction Center’s latest overall severe weather map…
The rains will come to an end early Sunday as a much cooler airmass moves in. Highs will struggle into the lower 60s Sunday with lows that may dip into the upper 30s in a few areas by Monday morning.
Next week looks like a dry week for the most part as temps rapidly warm as we head toward Memorial Day Weekend with low 80s likely. Keep an eye on something or tropical or sub tropical origins developing near Florida. Some of that moisture could eventually wind up in here.
I will update as needed today so check back. I am also on twitter so sign up to get the latest free updates to your computer or cell phone.
Take care.

Kentucky State Police received a call from The Pike County Detention Center in reference to Billy Roark walking away from the work release program.
He was last seen wearing black pants, white t-shirt and a ball cap in Shelbiana Millard area of Pike County if anyone has information on subject please contact Kentucky State Police at 606-433-7711 or 800-222-5555
Just noticed SPC have got us in the slight risk for severe weather now!!!!!!!!
Keep an eye out folks, that line is starting to really fire up.
It would not surprise me if that cell moving into Laurel county doesn’t become a Severe T’storm warning soon.
Scratch that for the time being… cell is not looking as impressive as it was when I first glanced at it. Possible hail size down to a quarter inch from one inch.
Watch possible soon!
