Good afternoon, folks. Your friendly weatherdude is dropping by for a quick update on a couple of systems for the weekend, and the arctic air that follows.
I have no changes with the first storm for Friday into Saturday. Rain will transition to some light snow and snow showers during this time.
The arctic front then dives in for Sunday with bitterly cold air to follow. The GFS continues to insist we get a storm to form across the Gul that works up the east coast into Monday. The latest run does throw some snow into Kentucky…
Is that storm real? That’s the first question I have. If it is real, would the famous northwest trend come into play as we get closer? If the answer is yes to both of those, look out. IF!
The Canadian Model doesn’t have a storm, but shows a healthy band of snow working in along the arctic front…
Lows for Monday and Tuesday behind that front…
The Canadian temperatures have been spot on of late and it’s absolutely killing the other models on the cold.
Let’s see what the European Model has to say about the Sunday/Monday storm. I’ll tweet what it’s showing and throw it on here at some point later today.
Take care.
Thanks CB. Hope the answers to both of the questions is yes. We need a good snow in good ole BG.
As Chris tweeted no go on the Euro.obliviated all the way to cuba..
boring
( -_- ) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I’ve got a feeling the GFS is on to something. How many runs has it shown something similar? I’m not a meterologist, but I have a strong suspicion this storm will materialize Sun/Mon and bring hvy snow into the eastern third of KY w/ central KY receiving mod snow.
I hope it`s on to something as well. I have a feeling that we will be seeing some good snow soon…
When will all this start
When we get the sub zero temps, I would like a nice blanket of snow to act as a buffer for plants-well- for everything! Shoot, I would like a nice blanket of snow!
Euro ens are meh also..Members are not as far south as the op though..Maybe the GFS can pull a coup and go negative tilt earlier and run inland with phasing..Course that has as much of chance of happening as me hitting the powerball tonight..
