Hi gang! I am planning on another big hurricane tracking post coming up later today. This one will include all the maps you need to track Ike and some web cams along the Texas coast so you can watch the storm move in until the power goes out on the cams.
I just wanted to drop by with a few maps for you to use here at home and to watch Ike until I can get the full post on the blog around noon or 1pm Friday.

Good Morning all! It’s Friday! Yea!
Thanks Chris for all the maps! As of 6:00 AM Ike had lost some of it’s strength which I’ve been praying to happen. I just hope it continues to weaken as the day goes by. Not only for those in the path of Ike, but for our pockets as well. My son called last night and told me gas had gone up to $4.80 in Puducha!!! I’m truly ready for winter!
Oh yes the dome is in effect again this morning. Ohio Valley is getting nice rain but it doesn’t appear to be willing to move to the south. Mother nature sure isn’t very cooperative these days. I hope the hurricane falls apart before it hits land.
Thanks Chris…keep us posted.
I just don’t have a very good feeling about Ike. I always have a gut feeling before something bad happens & just thinking about Ike makes me nervous. I pray for all those in the path cause this thing is a monster. I heard on tv this morning that it could still strengthen before it gets to Texas. I agree with Patty, I hopes its loses steam cause gas is gonna be crazy the way it is. It was 4.69 in paducah lst time I checked. I was watching cnn & they had the live cams on showing the waves in Texas. The waves are huge & the hurricane is still over 200 miles away so u can imagine the damage the water is going to do once Ike roars ashore. Yesterday, can’t remeber where I heard it from but they said when Ike does come ashore, the waves are gonna be so high that its going to be like a tsuanmi. They warn that it will put them under water. The whole city. not just one, but several. They showed pics this morning of water thats alreay in the neighborhoods. Like I said, there already having major flooding issued & this thing isn’t even there yet. Thats scary. I know they have to be even more nervous hearing the forecasters say that if they stay & in a single family home they face certain death. The last time they said that was with Katrinia, so I pray so hard for the people down there because they have to be a nervous wreck.
Hurricane Ike Coverage

Hey Chris, Congrats on the new blog! I am one of those that followed you from the WKYT blog. I have a couple weather questions I am hoping you can answer. We were discussing hurricanes at the office yesterday and the question was asked “Why do all hurricanes turn counter-clockwise”? Someone else told us that cyclones turn clockwise, is that true? And then we asked if all hurricanes turn the same direction, do all tornadoes rotate in the same direction? I know you can explain this for us. Thanks!!
Its due to the Coriolis effect which is caused by the earth’s rotation. All hurricanes in the Northern Hemisphere will rotate counter-clockwise. In the southern hemisphere they will rotate clockwise. In the US almost all tornadoes behave the same way, but there are rare occurrences where a tornado rotates clockwise.
I do not intend to copy your website, but I actually like the theme. Could you touch upon which theme are you using or is it custom designed?
Hi I want to know how you found this template from I want it!
