Good Thursday afternoon bloggers. The heavy rains of last night and this morning are moving out of the state right now. Most areas picked up some nice totals as we close out the month of July. Between 1″-2″ fell in a couple of spots with this latest round of heavy rainfall.
Southern Kentucky has done very well this past week in terms of rainfall. That is welcome news since this was an area of the state that was really in need of rains.
Keep an eye on the northwestern sky over the next few days. Thunderstorm complexes that form to our northwest will try to roll southeastward into the region.
I will have a full update coming later on this evening and take a look at some August thoughts.

We have done very well in the rainfall category down here, over 4+ inches of rain in many places since Tuesday !! now thats impressive for July standards. Hopefully the entire month of August wont be as HOT as the start is gonna be.
(can we skip it and go straight into Sept.)..HA..HA..HA..it was a good thought though..lol.

Ok do I have some news for all you guys. Last night we got a call that my husbands Mother’s house had been damaged by a tornado. There has not been anything about it on the news or anywhere. She lives in Pulaski county on HWY 70 about 3 miles from the Rockcastle County line in the Good Hope area not far from Eubank. A big pine had been twisted off about half way up the trunk and fell on the porch damaging the porch and the roof. 2 barn door were blown down as well as a lot of fences. Many trees were down. The whole place is a mess! He went down and spent the night last night, called me to bring him the chain saw today. Her lawn chair was found a quarter of a mile down the field. A round bale of hay was rolled out, then there was a strip of no hay for about 100 feet then the bale was splattered like a broken egg. 3 electric lines were taken out on 70. There were 2 distinct paths that took down trees. Each path is about 30-40 foot wide.
Everybody is ok but like I said – what a mess!
