Good Tuesday to one and all. Well… my isolated Monday storms turned into a nice little line of storms for much of the area. Win some… lose some.
If you go back and check out my blogs from a few days ago I specifically mentioned the chance for clusters of storms moving across the state Today. I apparently picked up on something then and should have stuck with it. My mind is fried right now with two blogs… a whole new station and new home.
Either that or I am getting soft in my old age.
The title of the blog post pretty much says it all. Thunderstorms and heat will be the main players as we get set to head into the first few days of August.
Our Tuesday will see a return of the hot temps. Highs will flirt with 90 with an increase in humidity and a small chance for a storm. (famous last words)
Wednesday will see a cold front bring showers and storms back to the state in full force. The chance is there for more severe storms and very heavy rainfall. The SPC has much of the region in a slight risk for severe weather…
Some storms will likely linger into Thursday.
The weekend will start off on a warm note with temps in the mid to upper 80s. I am seeing increasing signs of some real heat building in from Sunday into the early part of next week. If the models are correct… temps nearing 100 won’t be too far away from us.
The infamous Dog Days of summer are upon us.
But… my Bengals are now in Georgetown now for training camp so fall isn’t too far away. WHO DEY!
Take care.

Thanks Chris……..How long will the heat stay with us this time? I guess that’s a pretty dumb question considering August isn’t here yet. I’m looking forward to those cool clear sunny days of Autumn. My favorite season.
Thanks Chris for the update…Folks, stay cool and check on the elderly during this heat wave.
Good morning all, Those storms yesterday evening were impressive to say the least.
Chris…I would say it is kind of hard getting settled in. Since its not just a new job, but a new home, new job, and 2 new blogs. all I can say is YOU DA MAN !!..lol..dont feel bad about the storm clusters yesterday. Todd even said on the noon news cast yesterday that folks from a line from somerset to pikeville south would probably be dry due to the lower dew points. And I think this is the area that ended up getting Blasted the most. Win some, loose some, thats the way it works..lol..
Anyways, I’m not looking forward to more excessive heat.. I was HOT here yesterday before the storms rolled in. My thermometer reached 95* at one point. and to me that is WAY TO HOT. Don’t even want to phantom seing 100+. I hope everyones A.C. is working good.
Patty… I’m with you, looking forward to seeing those cool, clear days of Autumn, followed by the dark, cold, snowy days of winter…I just had to put that in there. would’nt be right if I did’nt..lol. later gang.
Why haven’t you updated your WSAZ blog since last week? Slacking off at work?
Chris isn’t slacking,it’s just that wsaz holds back on the post and blog till reviewed nothing to do with Chris. It will get the kinks worked out soon.Stay cool everyone lol!!!!!!
Our Chris never slacks he’s like christmas and santa claus all in one When he get those kinks worked out we will give that blog a workout when the snow go’s to flying…..
Thanks for the update, Chris! It will take time, but you will get it all under control! And besides the Bengals, our own ‘Cats start football fall camp very soon, too, don’t they? It is going to be the first game before we know it!
As far as the weather goes, I will not mind some rain coming. Parts of the county got a lot yesterday, but we only got about 2 tenths at our house. So, a little bit more, (or a LOT) would be welcome, especially if it is going to get hotter!
Looking forward to the next update from our harried, hurried, confused ( 😉 )weather guy.
thanks for sticking with us Chris- you rock! 🙂
slacking is not in chris vocabulary …never…
Thanks for much Chris for making this blog. We know you are very busy right now with all the new things going on. You’re the best.
5.4 magnitude earthquake in southern california. felt in L.A. and san Francisco. scientists are saying that there is a 99.9 % chance in the next 30yr. time frame that a magnitude 6.7 or greater will hit California.. ( I think I’ll stay here in the Hills of E.Ky…
I barely made it through work today! I know all of you get tired of me complaining about the heat, but every year it seems to get a little more unbearable. I guess I’ll just look to one day at a time. Please hurry Autumn!
Hey Chris, I think you should wear your speedo to work tomorrow just to give Jessica a nice surprise. I think she would really dig it.
a thunderstorm complex over illinois may clip northern areas overnight, looks like a close call now.
