Hello my fellow weather loving folks! I have spent most of the past several hours fighting with the internet and trying to hook up a slingbox. For those of you who aren’t tech savvy… that is a cool little device that will allow you to watch your cable on your computer from anywhere in the world. I am having a little trouble getting everything squared so if there are any first graders out there who can offer me some computer help… I would gladly accept! ![]()
As far as the weather goes… a few storms will roll through into early Sunday. I think another cluster will move through late Monday into early Tuesday and we will keep an eye on that. It looks to get hot for a few days before a front brings some releif to the region by later next week.
I will have more on all that plus a blast from the past weather post coming later Sunday night so make sure you check back.
Take care.

Google will be thanking you for all of the hits on slingbox..lol!
Sorry Chris………..That slingbox thing sounds like something that belongs in a Billy Bob Thorton movie. That’s how much I know about computer tech. LOL!
It looks like all of us in the central part of the state are in for another dry spell. As I’ve said a million times before I can’t take this heat! Come on Autumn!!

I realize that this is a weather blog, but I have a friend who needs lots of prayers right now. She has her own website and rather than me take up space to talk about her her please take a look at her site and then say a prayer for her and her family. Thanks! http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/brooklyndurham It looks like you might have to cut and paste, but it will be worth it.
Pat……I gave it a look. How sad! I certainly will keep her in my prayers.
Hey there Chris,
I have a favor to ask of you, or anyone else who might be able to get this information posted.
Last night a severe thunderstorm hit just south of Richmond. As I was traveling on my way back to Garrard County, probably around 12:45 A.M. or so, I noticed many limbs and even a large tree down on Hwy 1295, near Hwy 595 in Madison County. Also, one other driver had stopped on the shoulder of the road to inform us that the storm had knocked out other large limbs ahead of us. He had said the tops of trees had been twisted off, so I’m not sure if this was a tornado that didn’t quite make it to the ground, or if it was straightline wind damage, but I would estimate it to have been in the 60 to 65 MPH range–yet there’s nothing of the sort on the SPC page in the reports section from yesterday or today.
Could someone fetch a radar loop of last night between 10:00 P.M. and 12:00 P.M. and see where that thunderstorm blossomed over central and southern Madison county? The storm definitely packed quite a bit of punch, and from what I can tell on here, there was no immediate warning for the storm, and no generated reports.
Thanks,
Aaron C.
Pat i will keep her in my prayers also.
