Hey gang… a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for much of Kentucky until 6am. Here is a look at the counties included in this watch…
I think other watches will likely be issued overnight. This looks like it has the chance to produce fairly widespread wind damage along with large hail.
Please stay alert to the weather conditions overnight. I will try to have updates as I can on the blog so check back.
Take care and stay safe.

Chris- you are the best!!
This is definitely a night to make sure you’ve got good batteries in your weather radio… that is one ugly cluster of storms over Indiana right now.
This batch of rain just seemed to miss me. It got right to us and then fizzled into nothing. Maybe we will get more later today without the severe threat.
Thanks Chris…looks like the rain missed us here in Letcher County too.
Thanks for being there, Chris! Though the storms missed us altogether overnight, things are juicy this morning, so we may get in on it later today!

We have had torrential rains, high winds, lots of lightning, and thunder. Highway 27 has about 6 inches of water on it in places, to give you an idea of how hard and fast it has been raining. I am anxious to get home and check the rain gauge and see what we have gotten there.
