Good late Monday evening gang. Many folks got pounded by severe weather earlier in the day and it looks more and more like it is going to be a very storm night across Kentucky.
Numerous showers and storms are blowing up to our northwest. These storms will be diving southeastward overnight. Take a look at the regional radar from 10pm…
The stuff tyou see to the north and west will rapidly develop over the next few hours and head southeast toward Kentucky. The Storm Prediction Center continues to bring the moderate risk area toward the state…
Here is a look at the SPC’s wind damage potential for overnight…
Damaging winds will be a big concern into the early hours of Tuesday. This is a night to keep the weather radios turned on. I will update through the night as I can so check back with the blog and keep your fellow bloggers up to date on what’s going in where you live.
Stay tuned and stay safe! Take care my friends.

A case of the rich getting richer if you ask me. We need the big storm here in southern KY to make up for the rainfall deficits of the past couple of months. Looks like the big stuff will be limited to southern Indiana and northern KY..no surprise there.
Thanks Chris…let’s hope our friends in Knott County get some beneficial rain…officials there are asking people to conserve water.
Russ I agree we cant buy rain in Pikeville in se KY!!!!!!!
Chris do you see any hope for us in se ky for rain???

FAVORABLE LARGE-SCALE FORCING AND MOMENTUM ASSOCIATED WITH 30 KT

TROUGH…CONVECTIVE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN INTENSITY AS IT
PROGRESSES THROUGH STRONG INSTABILITY NOW PRESENT ACROSS THE LOWER
MISSOURI/LOWER OHIO VALLEYS. AND…THE GUST FRONT ON THE LEADING
EDGE OF CONSOLIDATING COLD POOLS PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE TO BE
ACCOMPANIED BY POTENTIALLY DAMAGING WINDS…DESPITE RELATIVELY WEAK
