Good Friday afternoon everyone. It’s another great looking day out there. Humidity levels are up a bit from Thursday but are still in what I would call the pleasant category for mid July. I wanted to drop by for a little update on the weekend and our chances for severe weather and heavy rains.

The Storm Prediction Center is highlighting the chance for severe weather across the Ohio Valley for the weekend.

Saturday Severe Threat

Sunday Severe Threat

This is a pretty strong front moving through for this time of year and should be able to touch off widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some of which could be strong or severe around here Sat night and Sunday.

In addition to the severe threat… the potential for some very heavy rains will be with us as well. The models are suggesting widespread half to one inch amounts. I think localized areas could pick up an inch or two in some of the stronger storms.

Here is a look at the GFS Weekend rainfall forecast…

I’ll update the weekend forecast once again later Tonight or early Saturday so be sure and check back. Have a great rest of your Friday my friends.

Take care.
