Good evening, gang. Heavy rain and thunderstorms continue to sweep eastward across central and eastern Kentucky. This is leaving behind 2″-3″ of rainfall across areas of central parts of the state. Watch for local street and stream flooding.
Eastern and southeastern Kentucky hit the upper 70s and low 80s today. Wow. Much cooler air comes in behind the rain for Friday. How spoiled are we? Highs will be in the upper 50s and low 60s and we will complain about that.
Warm air surges back in for Saturday with many areas deep into the mid and upper 70s…
Additional heavy rain producing showers and thunderstorms come in here later Saturday and Sunday.
Warm air takes us through the first half of next week. Once toward the end of the week, it looks like the spring party is over…
Check out the deep trough showing up…
The European Ensembles are all over this…
They even suggest we aren’t done with snowflakes over the next 2 weeks…
I leave your weather trackers for the evening…
Enjoy the evening and take care.
The party is not over, but interrupted.
You can go ahead and cancel that cold snap unless you think it will be over by April 1st
Wow, it’s crazy to watch it completely die as it enters southeast Ky.
Reminds me of most of the storm systems last year through Spring into June before July’s deluge. Many argued on here with me when I kept posting the year-to-date rainfall deficit in Harlan, but I know what I am reporting when I report it. The second half of the year ended up with a small surplus.
So far, we have a surplus in Harlan for now.
I wonder what causes that?
