Good Saturday, everyone. Major blasts of cold air are set to invade the bluegrass state over the next week, and potentially beyond. I’ve harped on this setup for the past few weeks, now it’s time for Mother Nature to deliver. That looks to be happening and we are in full blown Green Thumb ALERT mode.

A cold front drops into the region this evening with our first shot of real cold for Sunday. This could touch off a shower or two. Winds ahead of this front today can reach 40-50mph at times. This may cause some issues across central and eastern Kentucky.

Another cold front arrives Monday with some showers and thunderstorms…

Temps behind each of these cold fronts will drop into the 20s…

If those numbers for Tuesday morning are realized, record lows will be possible. Either way… a hard freeze is likely!

A stronger system impacts the weather by Wednesday and Thursday with showers and thunderstorms giving way to cold…

There’s the chance for some snowflakes on a strong northwesterly flow later Thursday. The GFS shows the chance around here…

That should set the stage for another night in the 20s.

Temps should rebound by the weekend, but the models are hinting at another big system being pushed by much colder air…

This is a pretty ugly look for the first half of April! Ugh.

Enjoy the day and take care.
