Good Friday, folks. We continue to see very mild air pushing into the bluegrass state over the next several days. As a matter of fact, one could even call it warm. Ok, fine… I will call it warm. We have warm air pushing in over the next several days. 🙂 Highs today should hit the low 70s in several areas with a partly sunny sky. There is still the small chance for a shower to pop in the south… Highs on Saturday range from 70-75 degrees after starting the day in the 40s. Sunday and Monday should really find temperatures taking off with mid and upper 70s. Don’t be surprised if we see a few 80 degree temperature readings showing up. There is a weak front that looks to barely graze the region from the north on Tuesday. The bulk of the cool passes us by, but it should knock the numbers down for a day or so… Temperatures should rebound quickly into the 70s for the second half of the week. That’s when we will have to watch for a shower or thunderstorm sneaking in from the west. Can we get them to arrive a little earlier? Yes, but this system has been slowing down some. I mentioned the potential to turn very warm for that last week of the month. I know this is way out there, but the GFS is cooking up some toasty temps… Ever notice if I post a 10 day computer model that shows heat or severe weather, the weather “police” say nothing and even show the same thing? Post something that shows cold or snow and they’re screaming at the top of their lungs. Agendas are everywhere. 😉 Enjoy your day and take care.

Thank you Chris, loving this warm weather especially after that cold snap. Have a great day everyone.
Thanks Chris! Loving this Kentucky warm weather.
Snow lovers would love a weekend in Denver, 14″ expected and 4 feet in the mountains.
CB touched on the models showing our area would actually be warmer that parts of the deep south.
But it’s still crazy seeing many low 60s in Alabama and Georgia (including a 59 degree reading near Troy Alabama. Yet parts of Tennessee and Kentucky are in the upper 70s to even the low 80s!
Gotta love a cut off low just meanders and drifts that’s what the Deep South is experiencing. Cool rainy and dreary. No surprise to see places in the south much cooler than the Ohio Valley that are under the influence of a cut off low pretty typical.
One of my first known experiences with what was likely a cut off low was a wintertime occurrence; I at was in my early teens living in the Chattanooga/Cleveland TN area. Not only was snow falling at my place, snow even extended down into Georgia and Alabama. But Michigan was getting rain! I might have did a double take or two looking at the radar that day 😉 .
The high in Lexington hit 78 today–way above what I saw anyone forecast.
It was a warm day. Hopefully the pattern stays this way!
