Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quick update and to shorten up the last post to only include your severe weather tracking tools.
An enhanced risk for severe weather is likely across much of Kentucky this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible. The storms will be racing west to east across the region.
In addition to the severe threat, torrential rainfall may cause local high water issues.

I will have the very latest on WKYT-TV and on my @kentuckyweather twitter feed.
Make it a great day and take care.
Thanks, Chris. I’m obviously no expert but the I-64 corridor seems to be a prime possible location for some wind damage. Wonder if we’ll see a watch box come out soon?
Thanks Chris. Looks like an active afternoon and evening shaping up. Glad we have you and the team at KYT to keep us up to date and ahead of the storm.
This kind of weather on the 20th anniversary of Twister’s release is ironic. Be safe, folks.
My street in north Richmond is a river. Hail and lightning off the charts.
Amazing straight line winds in Richmond in the last few minutes (6:45 or so)! Never seen anything like it in my 12 years here!
I really like the storm tracker radar!
SPC is saying in a recent “Mesoscale Discussion” that some tornadoes will still be possible for a while longer in south-central Kentucky and north-central Tennessee.

It goes without saying that twisters at night are particularly dangerous so please have your early warning weather devices working. Stay safe.
