Good Sunday, everyone. Our busy weather pattern looks to continue through the next few weeks, and may even ramp it up a notch or two. Some wild temperature swings are on the way, that could deliver rounds of big thunderstorms to our region.
Showers and storms out there today can still drop a lot of rain in a short amount of time… especially across the east.
Monday’s weather looks much better as we get set for another cold front to drop in from the northwest. This front arrives Tuesday with a broken band of showers and thunder…
You can also see our tropical system to be zipping across Florida and off the southeastern coastline.
Temps coming in behind this front continue to look VERY cool for this time of year. The GFS and European models agree. Check out the forecast highs for Wednesday…
Lows may drop into the 40s by Wednesday morning and then again Thursday morning. There’s a little Brr to that forecast.
That doesn’t last very long as heat develops in the plains states and fights into our region by the weekend. Scattered storms may develop as the heat tries to move in…
I do think we get our first widespread 90s next weekend…
As hotter weather builds in, we will have to be on guard for clusters of big thunderstorms diving in from the northwest during the following week…
With ample heat and humidity available, that’s could turn into a derecho pattern for some areas.
Enjoy your day and take care.
Last week the GFS ensemble was showing cooler than normal temps for next weekend while the Euro was screaming heat and humidity. Looks like Euro will win that battle. As we progress into the Summer months it’ll be harder and harder to get any decent cold fronts to make it this far south in a typical Summer, question is will this be a typical Summer? Enjoy the cool down to start this week that’s bonus weather.
Why do I no longer receive e-mails from Chris Bailey at the Ky. Weather center? I really look forward to these.
There’s the D-word again! I can’t wait!
Derecho’s they are quite the fascinating thunderstorm complex I will admit that problem with a Derecho is the widespread damage they can leave behind.
Can anyone send me the URL to get back on Chris’ blog. I have not gotten the blog for days. That was always the first thing i checked
