Good Wednesday to one and all. Additional rounds of showers are targeting the region over the next few days. These storms will roll in from northwest to southeast and could pack a bit of a punch. Some of the boomers could be strong and put down a ton of rain. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
In between the storms, temps will be very steamy and could reach 90. Humidity levels are off the charts and that moisture content will add to the heavy rain potential.
These clusters of storms will roll through here into Thursday…
Some of those storms can also be strong or locally severe.
A better chance for severe storms may come Friday as a cold front works in from the northwest…
Temp ahead of this may reach 90-95 with crazy high humidity. Watch the damaging wind threat with this line. Cooler weather will move in over the weekend.
I leave you with your daily dose of storm tracking tools…
Have a great day and take care.
It’s looking like the severe weather threat is ramping up in certain areas the next few days. Something to keep an eye on.
No big surprise the Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued earlier for western parts of KY and TN has just been extended farther east almost to Lexington and Knoxville. As CB pointed out earlier, very high dew points are now in place; this will likely feed incoming storms. Impressive line in the Missouri boot heel about to move into western KY and TN.
But the former derecho from Minnesota is stubbornly trying to hold its own as Louisville now under Severe T-storm Warning.
Stay safe everyone!
Recent warnings in western KY now have 70 mph wind gusts.
In its most recent update, SPC has a slightly higher chance of an isolated tornado for western parts of KY and TN. Still a low if not zero twister chance.
