Good Thursday evening everyone. Wow!! What a day of weather across the bluegrass state. Thunderstorms developed along the arctic front across eastern Kentucky and now the snow and cold takes over.

The upper level system we showed you with the early morning blog is working out of Tennessee into Kentucky this evening. This is causing widespread snows to break out and accumulations will come quickly. A widespread 1″-3″ of snow is likely for most of the state into Friday. Locally higher amounts are possible.

Winds will continue to gust to 30mph or higher and this will cause some blowing and drifting snow out there. Temps will continue to fall into the upper teens and low 20s.

Travel conditions will continue to worsen through the evening and overnight hours. This should lead to significant issues for motorists into early Friday.

Don’t forget to check the radars, live cams and current condition tabs at the top of the blog. Your tracking tools are always on! I will have more updates as needed and will continue to crash your twitter timeline. 🙂

Keep posting those reports from where you live. Take care.
