Good Wednesday, everyone. The much talked about tropical weather pattern has settled into the region, and is bringing rounds of heavy rain producing storms with it. This action is likely to kick into high gear by the time we get into the upcoming weekend.
The stuff out there today will continue to be scattered, but potent. Any storm that goes up will be a slow-mover and have the potential to put down a lot of rain. Outside of storms… it’s steamy and steamier.
The NAM keeps trying to spit out a more consolidated corridor of heavy rains later Thursday into Friday…
The Friday stuff has widespread support from other models that continue this into the coming weekend. The GFS…
The Canadian is a little more consolidated with the heavy rains…
It’s interesting to note that the European Model was all over this setup for days on end, but convective feedback is giving the model fits the past few days.
Regardless, the stage is set for repeat showers and thunderstorms that can cause flash flooding. This overall pattern really doesn’t show too many signs of letting up in the coming weeks.
Your tracking toys for the day…
Have a great day and take care.
Lol…I ve not seen any of these phantom “Tropical Rains”….It’s the usual Summer heat/humidity with scattered storms…..Remain calm, ….All is well…..:-)
Why is this blog always 5 alarm on BS Weather Models? It’s been a hot humid Summer…..nothing unusual
Where are all these flooding rains that have been advertised the last few days Lol? Every season can’t be a Hair on Fire!!!! event…..sometimes it’s just average Lol
Do you even know how to read???????? Apparently not. Get lost.
I live in Georgetown and traveled to Lexington last night. There were 2 different storms between Gtown and Hamburg, then I got into a 3rd 2 hours later. It was raining so hard at the Hamburg Lowes most people were waiting to go in and out-my next stop was Costco, and it was completely dry. Hit and miss is the key here. Some will have flooding, others won’t see a drop.
And where is that Tropical System raging up through the Gulf Lol? As advertised the last few days??? The NHC site shows nothing
The one raging up through the Gulf was a heavy rainmaker in southern Al and Fl. I’m not sure where you were looking but we were tracking it.
Enough of this Hair On Fire Overhype 24/7….I m done….Best of Luck with all this phantom BS LOL
Wow… ah, we got your point in your first post. While you’re at it, Western, why don’t you take a ride out to western KY and lecture them on the phantom tropical rains.
Glad you’re finished…plenty of other places for you to troll, or whatever else you’d do at 2:00 AM.
