Good Thursday, folks. If you were thinking about taking a trip to the Gulf of Mexico, save your money, the gulf has come to you. It’s a tropical environment across our region that will last through the coming weekend into early next week. This setup, as expected, will become very stormy, and that can bring a lot of water our way.
Today will feature steamy temps with scattered storms. You know the drill.
We will begin to see an increase in storms on Friday as the tropical connection to the Gulf really kicks in. This really shows up over the weekend…
Heavy rainfall can lead to some high water issues developing over the weekend and into the first half of next week. That’s especially true with the models leaving this setup going strong…
There are some models spitting out double digit rain numbers across the Ohio Valley over the next week or so. We will really need to watch the setup over the next week and change.
I leave you with your tracking toys…
Have a great day and take care.
I get what folks are saying when they say this summer pattern is like the past few summers in terms of being wet and not hot, but last August we were talking about low temperatures dipping down into the 50’s. Oh well.
It hasn’t been hot and dry but it has been very warm to occasionally hot and extremely wet and humid. I guess it depends who you are but at least for me very warm with oppressive dew points is miserable. Feels like a constant sauna outside.
CB’s thoughts on the overblown LaNina concerns starting to get some love finally.

Each day the WPC seems to push the big rains farther west. It now has it going up into eastern MO, turning and going up to the northeast from there, leaving our area with still heavy rains, but not nearly as high totals as there were. I guess it’s going more west than initially thought.
