Good Friday, friends and neighbors. I warned you this would be the steamiest part of the whole year, and mother nature is delivering the sweaty goods. Tropical humidity levels are off the charts leading to heat index values of 95-100 for many.
The stormy setup has been a littler slower in getting started than what I originally thought, but it’s about to ramp up in a big, big way.
Today will featured scattered storms going up, with the main focus of storms sweeping in this weekend. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms become likely and will carry us into much of next week. This continues to be a very ugly setup for possible flash flooding from the Gulf States into the Ohio Valley…
This semi-tropical looking system across the gulf states will throw moisture into the region through much of next week. Combine that with a slow-moving frontal boundary, and you can get some serious rain totals.
Looking down the road, most of the medium range models are going for some big and cooler changes next weekend…

Here are your Friday tracking toys…
Have a great day and take care.
I’m just going to say that I will be glad when summer is over. Humidity bites.
September weather in Kentucky is really underrated. It will be welcome when it arrives…
Agreed, usually around Sept 1 it dries up and starts to cool off. Sept through Nov is pretty much awesome around here.
Amen to all the previous posts. Can’t wait tell fall gets here, my favorite time of year!
My wife can take the cold better than the heat and humidity so she would echo the other posters. I’m the opposite and not looking forward to experiencing cold and snow again (although I like tracking snow storms).
At least football makes the fall and winter months go better for me, so ready for that 😉 . I even watched a Canadian Football League game the other day 😛 .
Data suggests the greatest coverage setting up both Saturday and Sunday afternoon to the north of I-20. We are also watching another Tropical Wave that s closer to the coast of Africa than the Lesser Antilles.
