Good Wednesday to one and all. Summertime is putting in overtime across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Steamy temps roll on for a few more days, as scattered showers and storms join the party. If you’re looking for some much cooler air to come back into town, I’m tracking a weekend cold front that may just become your new BFF. 🙂
Highs today are back into the upper 80s to low 90s under partly sunny skies. There is the small chance for a storm or two to develop.
Storms will increase late Thursday into Friday as our weekend front edges closer from the northwest. Temps should come down a few degrees during this time. The Canadian model is most aggressive with the storms and shows some heavy rain potential…
Saturday looks like the day of big changes as the front marches in…
A potent line of showers and storms will zip through here with gusty winds the main threat. Temps will drop like a rock behind that front with low and middle 50s showing up by Sunday morning.
Sunday looks phenomenal with mainly mid to upper 70s for highs, low humidity and sunny skies. With clear skies Sunday night, I can actually see a few spots making a run at the upper 40s. The models are also showing this…
Temps will begin to moderate again by later Monday into Tuesday. That warmer air will be ahead of another front arriving later in the week. Can we make another run at 90 before that happens? I think it’s possible.
The models continue to advertise some deep troughs digging into the country as the month wears on…
I think this is a signal of where the pattern is heading, but don’t get too attached to specific timeframes.
It’s the time of year to start looking for snow flying across North America. The GFS for the next few weeks shows a good buildup across northern Canada, Alaska and even shows some potential in the Rockies…
Tis almost the season!
Have a great day and take care.
Hearing grumblings that the mid-month cool down might not be as big of a cool down as orginally thought models are backing off the idea. Rex’s Block looks to come in to play.
Part of the Rockies experience there first snowfall last weekend. Notice the cool air doesn’t stick around long, but it felt good while it lasted. Summer just not letting go yet as we headed to the fall season on the 22nd
