Good Saturday, everyone. We have a strong cold front pushing across Kentucky today, and this front may cause some issues. We will need to be on guard for a line of strong to severe thunderstorms working in from west to east this afternoon and evening.

The day starts with the potential for isolated showers and storms with winds on the increase. Wind gusts may reach 25-30mph at times with a mix of sun and clouds. Temps will range from the upper 70s to near 80 in the west to the upper 80s to near 90.

A line of thunderstorms will then develop along the front this afternoon. That line should develop in the vicinity of the Interstate 65 corridor and sweep eastward. Damaging winds will be the main threat to watch for.

Much cooler air will blow in here for tonight and Sunday. Lows will be deep into the 50s to start Sunday with highs generally in the 70s. A mix of sun and clouds will be noted, with more clouds possible in the east. A few upper 40s may show up by Monday morning.

The setup for next week should throw another slow-moving system by the second half of the week into next weekend. This may also be impacted by some potential tropical troubles in the Gulf and off the southeast coast. I will touch on all this with the next update.

Until then, let’s track the severe weather potential…
