Good Thursday, everyone. It’s all eyes on the weekend and the increased threat for scattered showers and thunderstorms. This action is ahead of a slow-moving cold front pulling into the region from the west. Let’s get after it.

Today is a pretty good day with summertime temps hanging tough. Skies should be partly to mostly sunny with only a small, small pop up chance.

Scattered storms increase from the west into Friday afternoon and evening as the weekend front draws closer. This will bring a much greater chance for showers and storm Saturday into Sunday…

I don’t expect this to be a total washout of a weekend, but some heavy rainfall will be possible.

Another weak system skirts across the region on Monday with another threat for showers and storms…

Temps should take off again by the middle and end of next week as summer keeps putting up one heck of a fight.

Yesterday, I showed you some seasonal models going toward colder air later this month into October. The longer range models keep seeing this…

gfs-3

That’s from the GFS for the week of September 26th. Of course, the models have been showing something similar for every week two period, only to have it disappear as we get closer. I think the models are seeing where the pattern is going, but rushing things much too quickly.

Btw… those same CFS seasonal models keep showing this for the next 45 days worth of snow…

Have a great day and take care.
