Good evening, everyone. Light snow invaded the bluegrass state this afternoon and will continue to increase overnight into early Saturday. Things are going according to plan and there is no reason to change anything with the forecast.

The heart of the accumulating snow arrives later this evening and overnight along the arctic front. Slick spots may develop on area roads late this evening and many roads may become snow-covered to start out Saturday.

There is a heck of a northwesterly wind blowing tomorrow and this should be able to provide ample moisture for snow showers and squalls through the day. That’s especially true for the eastern half of the state.

Winds will gust to 25-30mph at times, so whatever snow you have on the ground will blow around some. Temps will also crash with readings in the low and mid 20s by late morning into the afternoon. Teens are on tap by early evening. Those same winds will make it feel even colder.

Make sure to hit the tracking tools at the top of the page. Radars, current conditions and cams are there for you guys to follow the flakes.

I will update things a little later this evening and will send out updates and reports via twitter. Be sure to keep posting the weather from where you live.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
