Good Friday, everyone. Rounds of showers and storms continue to push across the region today, and a few can cause some issues. Once the rain clears, it’s game on toward a weather weekend straight out of late September. Bring it on, Mother Nature.
Local high water issues are possible out there today as more showers and storms rumble through. Many areas picked up a lot of water on Thursday, so it won’t take much in these spots. Check out those heavy rain numbers in the east on Thursday…
Here are the standard tracking toys for the day…
The system bringing today’s rain then turns the corner up the east coast. That’s NOT something you see in late July, but is more like a cold weather system setup.
Much cooler air then dives in here behind the system with highs on Saturday in the 70s with a mix of sun and clouds and a stiff breeze from the northeast. Lows by Sunday morning will drop deep into the 50s and could get close to a few record lows.
Sunday looks VERY nice with upper 70s to low 80s for highs across the state. Just look how far below normal the numbers are…
This air this weekend is about as dry as you will ever find it around here for this time of year.
Temps moderate some for the middle of next week, but should still only get to normal levels for a few days. That’s when another system works in from the northwest with some showers and storms, and another shot of below normal temps possible…
Make it a great day and take care.
Dry as a bone here in Louisville.
No complaints about the weekend forecast.
I am going to spend a lot of time outside Saturday and Sunday.
Thanks Chris, Yesterday afternoon, most of the rain fell in the eastern counties, just what I expected to happen before this system begin entering the state. My county in the central part of the state, received a few rounds of scattered showers and a little thunder, not much rain, but we will take it. Good thing, no severe weather was reported throughout the state. High pressure ridge is developing to our west, which is to be expected to bring down the forecast cooler, dryer air and hopefully lower dew points. Have a great day and always friends here.
**Yawn**
Shut up, Ralph.
Thanks Chris. We didn’t see much rain here yesterday so I am hoping to get some today. It’s getting pretty dry around our house and it isn’t even August yet. I am looking forwRd to the weekend and a beautiful day to work outside . Have a great and hopefully wet Friday everyone but stay safe!
I saw lots of rain yesterday and last night so weird around noon everything got so dark the lights came on at the gas pumps.Heavy rain in the eastern part of state.
One heavy quick shower here in BG….not enough at all!
We received quite a bit of rain in Raceland yesterday and last night. Did not get an official amount, but some of the showers put down quite a bit. Looking forward to tomorrow – the forecast looks perfect!
Looks like Chris would ban the yawn NUT!
