Good Wednesday to one and all. The middle of the week will feature some changes across the region as we ramp up the shower and thunderstorm threat out there today and a few of the boomers could be on the strong side.
We will get your daily storm tracking tools in a bit. Let’s give you a breakdown of some of the thoughts floating around in my head. (That could get ugly!
)
– Showers and thunderstorms will increase from west to east today. Damaging winds and hail will be possible in the strongest storms and that is something we will keep a very close eye on.
– Temps should generally stay in the 70s again as clouds and rain keep things in check.
– Early morning showers and thunderstorms will move away Thursday leaving us with partly sunny skies and temps in the upper 70s to low 80s.
– The heat across the plains will bubble up Friday into Saturday as our temps warm into the 80s with low 90s in the far west. We will likely see rounds of showers and storms working back in Friday and these should last into the weekend. These can become severe and put down some hefty rain totals.
– The heat will build back in for a few days into early next week. That shouldn’t last too long as another shot of cool air tries to push in for the end of next week. You can see that well on the GFS Ensembles Temp Departure map…
Ok… here is your hookup for tracking the storms of today…

I sure hope that we get this rain. We need it badly and I don’t wnt it to get so hot again. I fear it will get hot and be drought liek again since I have heard that droughts come 2 years at a time.

Lots of lightning this morning at my location in the Louisville area. We had up to 7,000 outages locally with about 5,000 of those in and around communities near my location in Valley Station.
