Good Wednesday evening. Our spring feel will lead to some showers and thunderstorms tonight into Thursday. Some of the storms on Thursday may be on the strong or severe side.
The Storm Prediction Center has much of Kentucky in the slight risk for severe weather…
Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats. If we can get a storm or two to get out on their own… the threat for a tornado would be with us.
A few of the storms out there this evening may be on the strong or severe side. Be sure to hit the radars at the top of the page to track the storms.
Have a great evening and take care.
The thunder rolls here in Bardstown, along w/ some light showers!
Too bad it can’t be “Thundersnow”….what I wouldn’t give for about 3-4 days of frozen ground so that I wouldn’t have to wipe the doggies’ “feets” off everytime they come in from outside…ummm..yeah…every 6 minutes…no wonder I’m losing weight! 😉
Looks like a good line growing if you live along the WK/BG Pkwy’s.
Looking pretty stormy here. See lightning and some spooky looking clouds as night falls.
Got some pretty good thunder going on here in Jessamine County.
Thunder rolling here in Corbin, part of a snowman still in the neighbor’s yard lol!
man good looking stoems on radar in TENN and WEST CENTRAL KY.
Quite a good bit of storms lining up training across TN, SE Ky, and into my part of VA. Any chance these could pose a flash flood threat?
Ahhh… good lightning show out there. Nice appetizer for tomorrow. 🙂 Bring it.
thunderstorms been rolling here in knox co. since about 5:30pm…heavy rain with some loud thunder and vivid lightning…areal Flood advisories been posted for extreme se ky. counties….
GFS has been Bullish the last few days for something big around March 1st..If this is still showing up within the 5 day time frame could be something to keep an eye on..Dare i say another wet _________???
NO! Don’t even go there!!! LOL!
Well, if it comes to fruition (which I doubt, just like this last storm- you guys to the East of me hogged it all..LOL!:)),perhaps it can hit right here, smack in the middle of the state, rather than hitting in the S. IN/L-Ville area or E/SE KY??! I mean, I’m not trying to cause any arguments by any means, but you have to admit, if it’s going to REALLY SNOW, these are the 2 places that will nearly (usually…not THIS winter, tho!) get slammed w/ something? The rest of us ({{waves @ BubbaG!!}}) just sit back and WISH…
Need to dry up here in southeast KY. Poured the rain here this morning and again this evening. This on top of the 6 inch quick melt of snow and more rain forecast tomorrow. Need some sun down this way.
What is the time frame for the storms tomorrow?
Roughly late afternoon into the evening. NWS Jackson KY now has info for Thursday including video briefing.

If per chance your handle means Richmond KY/Madison County, they’re under jurisdiction of NWS Louisville but they border NWS Jackson so either could do. NWS Louisville will likely have it’s own info on Thursday’s severe wx before long.
Yes! This is just the beginning of what looks to be another active year for severe storms!!!
Remember last week when I said I’d dance w/ you in the SNOW?? If we ever get it, that still “holds”..lol! 🙂 Far as dancing around a Tornado, you’re on your own, sweetie, unless you hook up w/ Cheryl Burke or someone…LOL! 😉
Yes!! Big Lightning in Jefferson County! (Disclaimer: the preceding exclamation of joy was not intended to suggest that I hope that anyone, anywhere, at anytime is ever injured or caused to suffer difficulties from severe weather.). I just love intense weather! 🙂
Seriously guys, my back yard is like the Everglades after the rain showers that fell atop 5″ worth of snow melt. Crazy weather….
better put the yaesu back on charge for tomorrow i guess. it looks as tho i may have to use it to call in to weather net for weather info and , call in any damage i may or may not have in the area.
dont look foward to the severe weather , but i feel its coming. today had that spring stormy day feeling to it all day. i was looking for it to storm at any time, but never saw anything but some lightning over the mountain 1 time.
It seems that people are very fickle about what severe and potential dangerous weather they like or are interested in….I, myself, am interested in ALL of it and get pretty excited when I’m able to see these things going on. Snow and ice can be potentially deadly in the same way that severe storms can and you sure don’t want to hear people complaining every single time you wish for snow. Bottom line is that this is a weather board and it seems to be open to all weather enthusiasts and the opinions they form and not agreeing doesn’t mean bashing is in order. Just enjoy the weather people!
