Good Saturday to one and all and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Green is the color of choice today… unless you enjoy being pinched. If that’s your thing… I have no advice for you. 🙂 Our weather out there on this big day will feature more of the same with some scattered showers and storms and warm temps. ‘Scattered’ is the name of the storm game this weekend.
We will have a lot of dry hours today and Sunday, but will have to be on guard for a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Any storm that goes up this weekend may be on the strong side and put down more heavy rainfall.
Whatever is out there, will show up here…
High temps today will hit the low and mid 70s and may go higher for areas seeing a little more sunshine. Mid and upper 70s look good for Sunday with 80 degree highs possible Monday and Tuesday.
The warm weather train may hit a bit of a detour by the end of next week as a cutoff upper level low swings in from the west…
That pattern may bring unsettled and cooler weather our way into next weekend. These upper lows often have a mind of their own, so let’s wait and see exactly how it plays out.
On another note… the European Model shows a cold shot of air coming in here for early in the following week…
Take that with a giant grain of salt. This pattern isn’t one that should feature man cold shots and if we get one… it would be in and out.
Have a great Saint Patrick’s Day and take care.
Our spring break is the first week of April, ends with Easter, so I bet, we lose the warmth just to turn cold again just in time for all of that. Typical! Oh well, enjoy while we can 🙂
ours is too…we usually try to camp that week too…we’ve camped in snow, rain…any weather you can speak of…rode out a tornado several years ago…it’s KY…be prepared for anything…but I was sure hoping for days like today.
Happy St.Patrick’s Day from Huntington, WV!!! Still reading your Blog and missing you on TV. Love the Blog!!!!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
sorry Chris, but you are completely wrong. BLUE is the color of choice today!!!
I really don’t care anymore about what kind of weather we have as long as it isn’t tornadoes, flooding, and severe weather. All else I can deal with and possibly even enjoy.
Go big blue!!!!! Bring home an 8th
The good news is that Ky/Tn have very low tornado risks for today, according to the SPC:

Unfortunately, things could get volatile into next week. Parts of central and southern plains already have higher threat levels for Sunday and Monday.

A bit early to tell exactly how our area will be affected (roughly the middle of next week), but something to watch very closely the next few days.
Rambunctious thunderstorms in central KY attm. Swinging E-NEwrd into and through the Louisville forecast area.
Yep! We just had a huge crack of thunder and lightning just now and it’s pouring rain! It made me jump!
Storms in Lexington….really incredible lightning.
