Good championship Monday everyone. Our new week is starting off on a stormy note for some as we have a big temp gradient taking shape across the bluegrass state.
A front is draped across the state from northwest to southeast and this is the focal point for a few rounds of showers and storms. Some of these storms may be on the strong side and put down a lot of water.
You can follow the action on regional radar…
The temp gradient today is going to be nothing short of impressive. Readings across the east may struggle to get out of the 60s while the west flirts with 90 degrees. Wow!
Here’s a look at current temps…
The warmer temps will work in over the next few days as our pattern becomes very active. We have a lot of weather ahead of us and the possibility that temps take some big time swings over the next week or two.
To show how active the pattern looks… The GFS is taking aim at our region with a lot of rain over the next two weeks.
This isn’t the best looking weather ahead of us over the next few weeks. Have a great Monday and take care.
Another mostly cloudy day so far in Frankfort holding temps in the upper 50’s, I hope this front moves out the area, West KY in the sweet spot for summer like weather. GO CATS!!
way past the 60s here
in Knox county
Here is a link to NWS Jackson KY about this being the 25th anniversary of the big 1987 April snowstorm. This storm was discussed here a few weeks ago, even Alabama had up to 10 inches. I was in east Tn which was buried, but only three years old so I have no real memory of this event.
As fate would have it, April 3 is also the anniversary of the 1974 Super Outbreak, as if we need any reminders we are in peak severe wx season.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
