Good Friday to one and all. Our Easter weekend is upon us and that means the weather forecast takes on a little more importance. Easter Egg hunts and sunrise services are both impacted by what mother nature throws our way. It looks like maw nature and the Easter Bunny are on good terms as we have a nice looking forecast taking shape.

Let’s start with the precious present. Today marks the first day of the spring meet at Keeneland and the weather will be fantastic. We are off and running on a chilly note with temps in the 30s early today. Sunny skies will boost afternoon readings into the lower 60s with a little breeze blowing.

Tonight and early Saturday will be another cold one with frost likely. A light freeze may occur in some of the colder areas in the north and east as temps drop into the upper 20s for a few hours.

Saturday afternoon looks spectacular with mostly sunny skies and temps warming into the upper 60s. Easter Sunday goes a little something like this:

– Sunrise services will see clear skies and temps in the upper 30s and low 40s.

–  A few clouds increase by midday with temps warming into the low 60s.

– There is a very small chance for a sprinkle or two in the afternoon with highs in the mid and upper 60s. Winds will pick up during this time.

That brings us to the weather for early next week and the possibility for a real deal shot of cold temps. The European Model continues to suggest a heck of a cold blast of air. Take a look…

That is a wild-looking setup for next week on that particular run. If you want to get technical about it… those maps suggest some chilly showers with a snowflake possible. No thanks!

Have a great Friday and take care.
