Good Tuesday everyone. We are seeing some changes in the overall weather pattern and this will lead to some warmer temps over the next several days. With the good will come some bad and that will be an increased threat for showers and thunderstorms. A few of these storms may end up being on the strong side.

We will see a warm front slowly working in from the west later today. A mix of sun and clouds will be noted across most of central and eastern Kentucky as temps head toward the low 60s. Some showers will develop across the western part of the state and may clip parts of central and south central areas. Here’s the NAM Simulated Radar this evening and overnight…

Much warmer air surges in for Wednesday as readings hit the 70s. A cold front will slowly sag southward into the Ohio Valley late Wednesday into Thursday and this front should fire off some rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these may be strong or severe. Warm temps should carry us through the rest of the week.

A stalled out front will then stretch from the Ohio Valley into the plains states. That’s where an area of low pressure should form by Saturday. That low will work across the region over the weekend with more showers and thunderstorms possible. Some of those could also be strong or severe.
