Updating The Busy Setup

Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the active pattern that’s taking us straight into the heart of fall. This is a big temperature crash on the way, with two rain makers set to impact our region during the transition.

Let’s begin with the latest on Hurricane Michael. This is becoming a major hurricane and is heading toward the Florida Panhandle and will be a devastating storm when it comes ashore on Wednesday…

Some of that offshoot tropical moisture will be siphoned northward ahead of a cold front moving into the state late Wednesday and Wednesday night. Showers and thunderstorms will increase during this time, with some locally heavy rains. Deeper tropical moisture will get into southeastern Kentucky by early Thursday…

Temps crash behind the front on Thursday with a true fall chill in the air. Temps by Friday morning may drop into the 30s for some…

Highs on Friday stay in the 50s with a mix of sun and clouds. A better chance for frost will be with us Friday night and Saturday morning with readings in the 30s.

What’s left of a Pacific hurricane will then cross the country and move all the way into our region by Sunday. Check out the Hurricane models…

What how that system deepens on top of us, bringing chilly rains into town…

Highs may not get out of the 40s for some on Sunday…

Another frost potential follows that up, with more cold shots on the way.

As far as today is concerned, a scattered shower or storm may flare up. I have you all set to track them…

Make it a great day and take care.

Thanks Chris. Still keeping an eye on the weather in my old Kentucky home, even at the beach! Sounds like I’m going to need the neighbor to turn on the heat before we get back! So we will doubly enjoy the warm ( and mostly dry) weather while we are here. Michael is on the other coast, and should only cost us a day. So I will take that over getting run off the beach like we did with Matthew a coupe of years ago! Have a great afternoon all.

I hope PCB is cleaned up by Nov. 15th. I have a little vacation booked down there.
