Good morning everyone. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for parts of central and western Kentucky until 9am eastern time. This watch now includes the Lexington and Louisville metros. Here is a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings.
Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threat from these storms working in from the northwest. You can track the action on regional radar…
Other strong or severe storms will be possible across the rest of Kentucky early today. I will have updates as needed and via twitter. Have a great day and take care.
Thank you Chris. I woke up to some loud thunder during the night.
I would like to thank the NWS for the 3:30am wakeup call from my weather radio. I’m especially thankful I was awoken in the middle of the night for a thunderstorm “watch”….seriously? It barely broke more than a light rain here in Lexington.
