Hey Rolo, thanks for the heads up. Just wanted to give you my best wishes as well, hope everything’s going good for you in your fight.
Hey Rolo. I don’t post much on here but I sure am glad to see you back. Wishing you the best of health.
I have had my fill of severe weather. Bring on the snow!!!
Yeah no kidding, why can’t we get this kind of precip in winter!?
New Tornado Watch out. See key details below regarding MCS.
THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
EXTREME SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
EXTREME SOUTHERN INDIANA
WESTERN AND CENTRAL KENTUCKY
EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 230 PM UNTIL
700 PM CDT.
TORNADOES…HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER…THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH…AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE

DISCUSSION…A PERSISTENT MCS HAS BECOME MORE ORGANIZED EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON…AND WILL TRACK EAST-NORTHEASTWARD ALONG REMNANT OUTFLOW
BOUNDARY. THIS SETUP SUGGESTS THE POTENTIAL FOR BOW ECHO
DEVELOPMENT WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE.
ALSO…FAVORABLE LOW LEVEL SHEAR AND CONVERGENCE ALONG BOUNDARY WILL
POSE THE RISK OF A FEW TORNADOES ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE
MCS…AND WITH ISOLATED CELLS AHEAD OF THE MAIN LINE.
maysville be ready to seek shelter, heavy traning storms from lou to frankfort now as well.
Hi rolo. I sure hope we don’t get bad storms during the night. They scare me. 🙂
Thanks for the update Chris!
ty both, right now im doing great. hopefully I can stay that way and it doesnt spread. luv u all.
Are these storms headed toward Lexington and east?
It’s raining like someone up-ended a bucket. I have water standing 6-8 inches deep in my drive-way and some spots in my yard. I’ve lived in Frankfort for 13 years and this one has to be a record….we need to save some of this rain for A
ugust and September.
As of 3:00pm Lexington only needed 0.06″ for all-time wettest April on record.
I’ll check my math again but I think 9.30″ is the record to beat.
Rolo, I’ll be praying for ya man. Didnt know you were sick till yesterday. Glad your getting better.
MS,(or anyone),
Just curious, how can I find what a 24-hour period record rainfall would be for Frankfort? We must be close to it. Thanks.
The sun has come out!! It has been pouring down rain for the past couple of hours and it has finally ended. I had a lot of water in my yard-the most I have seen in the 5 years I have lived here.
Hey WXman, film the storm for me!!
Hail in Lewis County around 440pm–strongs winds.
The unfortunate thing is, the next wave is already starting to fire up again out in south central Missouri. Could be another long night of storms and heavy rain. Not looking good at all.
Do you think this front will begin to move South towards Floyd and Pike county’s, or will it remain fairly stationary and train over the Northern sections of KY.
Feel kinda left out here in EKY and I would LOVE to get in on some that have been in the Central and Western part of the state. Do you all think EKY will get any storms of that caliber tonight and I’ve heard some people talking about Monday being a big outbreak once again…..???
Will EKY see any storms even close to what the Central and Western parts have?????
A funnel cloud was sighted near Boston in Nelson County.
There has been a report of a rotating wall cloud in Breckinridge County.
Watching threat for another MCS to form in Central Missouri. Regardless of whether they stay severe, the rain alone from them could be very damaging at this point. See meso discussion at the link below, includes only WKY so far.

This is getting old to me at this point. I think because I can’t seem to focus on anything else when weather like this is going on. Still love the weather though, even though it can be a P A I N.
Every road in Seymour, IN is closed. Police are telling residents to stay off the roads and shelters are being set up.
You should have seen those clouds coming through! I live just a bit southwest of Boston in far northeast Elizabethtown. Those huge black churning clouds came across the back field! Freaked me out!!!! Scary and amazing all at the same time!

S T R O N G storm just moved through my area of Lexington. It lasted quite a bit longer than I expected it to. Not as much lightning as I expected (though some) but extreme rain and gusty winds.
Lexington has surpassed the all-time rainfall record for the month of April!
From Richmond I can see the storms to the west—radar shows that we look to get the very southern tail end of it here in town—but the clouds are sort of rolled up and have that classic “there’s wind with this storm” look. Being so far south it may be more wind than anything else, but we’ll see.
K, so I’m a total Twitter noob. In order to get my comments retweeted by @Kentuckyweather, do I need to be followed by @Kentuckyweather?
Tail end of line moved thrugh Richmond just now—MAYBE 30 mph wind gust with the associated (roll clouds?) but nothing severe—some sprinkles and light rain. Saw one flash of lightning but no thunder, storm clouds rolled over—some isolated fast cloud development at low levels however.

new April rainfall record for Lexington
No…just reply to Chris by starting your tweet with @Kentuckyweather, followed by your comment.
Im going to be running a live blog for the overnight hours for the flood threat for those interested.
4.2 inches of rain today in East Frankfort. The lake behind my house is way out of its normal level. Radar to the west shows this could be a major local flood event in Frankfort area???
Most of that rain is in my basement…
🙁
Ouch. 🙁
Can someone please tell me if the chance for severe storms will be tomorrow and Monday?
Thanks!
4.92″ daily rainfall record for any month.
Looks like a daily rainfall record set today for this date.
Haven’t tabulated it yet, but Frankfort may have also shattered all-time rainfall record for April
sorry…here’s the link

Looks like a LOT of rain out to the west—-how far south will the rain reach this time, I wonder?
Tell it to stooooooooooooooooooooooop!
I am really sick of rain now. 😉
That is a LOT of rain to the west coming our way… I have a feeling we’ll have a good few more inches of rain in the next 24 hours… ugh.
The sad thing is, if that were snow, it would find a way (even at this point on the radar) to totally disappear before reaching the central Ky. area. I wish that rain would do the same. Hard to believe we couldn’t buy a good heavy snow and yet, we’ve had the equivalent of 100 inches of snow worth of rain in the past month.
Sad.
No that snow line would stay together until it reach Lou. & Lex and then it would become a fz rain event.
