Good Saturday to one and all. Our weekend is underway and summer air has taken control of our weather pattern. Temps in the 80s over the next few days may just be the opening act to a mini heat wave that tries to break out just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Could we see our first 90 of the year in many areas? My sources say… maybe.
Today will feature temps in the middle 80s with an increase in humidity levels. This may spark an isolated thunderstorm or two. The same forecast will play out for Sunday as we add a degree or so on top of today’s highs. Make sure you slap on the sunscreen.
A weak front makes a run at us into Monday and Tuesday and this will touch off some showers and thunderstorms. The GFS for Monday afternoon shows this…
Temps will come down some during this period as the clouds and scattered storms take a toll. That won’t last long as the heat really begins to build in by the end of the week into Memorial Day Weekend. Take a look at the impressive heat ridge coming from the European Ensembles…
Thermometers could top 90 degrees over the holiday weekend.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
Yesterday’s paper had an article that said all parts of the U.S. south of a line from Idaho to New Jersey will have a long hot summer. Last week there was hope on this blog that we would have a cooler summer. What’s the reason for the hot forecast? I am so tired of reading that the past month, three months, twelve months, etc. are the “hottest on record”. Where are we going with this heat? Chill, Mother Nature, chill.
Too darn hot for me today. Gimme low 70’s!
Me too!! And despite all the rain last Sunday, my flowers are drooping. I get nervous when it gets hot this early. (looking at Chris’ forecast of 90’s later this week) I want more 70’s, then some 80’s, then just a few 90’s.
