Good Tuesday everyone and thanks for making us your online stop for all things Kentucky weather. Slow moving showers and thunderstorms dropped a lot of water on some areas Monday and we could see a repeat of that today. That will especially be the case across the eastern half of the state and one or two of the storms may be on the strong side. All of this action is just ahead of a heat wave that builds in for the big holiday weekend ahead of us.
The storms today should be most prominent across the eastern half of Kentucky as the west sees a decent amount of sunshine. Here’s your regional radar to follow the action…
Highs today will likely hang around in the 70s for many areas. There looks to be enough juice hanging around into Wednesday and that may mean a few more afternoon boomers trying to crank up in the same areas. Temps will begin to warm back into the low 80s for most of the state.
That’s just a sign of things to come as the real deal heat surges in here on Friday and carries us through Memorial Day. The GFS numbers will make you sweat by just looking at them…
Wowza!!! Record highs could fall this coming weekend around here and across much of the Ohio Valley into the deep south.
Let’s hope we can get a storm or two to help us out. Your friendly weather dude is not a happy camper with all this heat. 😉
Enjoy your Tuesday and take care.
I love it!!!
I’ll second that! 🙂
Im not a happy camper either! 80* with high humidity is bad enough…when you start talking 95-100*!!! thats down right miserable…YUCK!! better get those pools ready!
Was hoping for a little rain yesterday but it missed us. Would have been nice since the pastures just got mowed.
Time to dust off the A/C units for this weekend. I’m not a fan of 90’s. That’s why I left Florida!
got a good shower here yesterday. it was good for all the stuff i put in the garden last weekend. i was happy i did not have to haul out the hose! i would take another shower like that today!
Wow! Wanted some warm temps, but not quite ready for 90s! Guess we will just have to get ready for them, huh? We just got a pretty good shower here witha little thunder and wind to go with it.
Nothing bad, just a pop up thundershower. Since the heat is coming, I will take what we can get! Thanks, Chris, for all you do. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
My bones like warm dry weather. 🙂 90 degrees? Hmm, that might be stretching it a little! Thanks for keeping us updated Chris!
Not looking forward to 90 degree weather this early either.
That said, God bless Joplin.
