Good Tuesday everyone and thanks for making us your online stop for all things Kentucky weather. Slow moving showers and thunderstorms dropped a lot of water on some areas Monday and we could see a repeat of that today. That will especially be the case across the eastern half of the state and one or two of the storms may be on the strong side. All of this action is just ahead of a heat wave that builds in for the big holiday weekend ahead of us.

The storms today should be most prominent across the eastern half of Kentucky as the west sees a decent amount of sunshine. Here’s your regional radar to follow the action…

Highs today will likely hang around in the 70s for many areas. There looks to be enough juice hanging around into Wednesday and that may mean a few more afternoon boomers trying to crank up in the same areas. Temps will begin to warm back into the low 80s for most of the state.

That’s just a sign of things to come as the real deal heat surges in here on Friday and carries us through Memorial Day. The GFS numbers will make you sweat by just looking at them…

Wowza!!! Record highs could fall this coming weekend around here and across much of the Ohio Valley into the deep south.

Let’s hope we can get a storm or two to help us out. Your friendly weather dude is not a happy camper with all this heat. 😉

Enjoy your Tuesday and take care.
