Good afternoon, folks. My time is short, so this won’t be the longest update in the world, Heavy rain is pulling out of southeastern Kentucky as colder air blows in from the west. That colder air settles in to start the weekend, but another big rain event is on the way to end it and the year.
Track the rain out of the state…
That next system produces heavy rain, wind and maybe another rumble of thunder Sunday night through New Year’s Eve. Rainfall totals of 1″-3″ will be possible, leading to a renewed flood threat…
Cold air surges in behind that to kick off 2019, but another southern storm system will develop and could impact our weather later Wednesday or Thursday.
The GFS is seeing it better…
So does the new version…
The Canadian overwhelms it with cold and keeps it southeast…
The ICON says “let’s play ball”…
I will hook you up with another update this evening. Have a good one and take care.
Hopefully the second system movers further NW. I Like that we are not in the path as of now!!!
Yup we need more rain that’s for sure.
lol 🙂 🙂 🙂
At least the models were wrong on the high rain numbers SE KY FOR ONCE…lol.
I only reached 1.23 here.
A foot of rain but can’t buy an inch of snow! The SE KY winter wonder-mudland!
Thanks Chris. Looking like we are about to get out of the rain for the day! Clearing skies between Georgetown and Sadieville. I’ll take it! Especially travelling. Ah here comes the sun! That would make a good song, wouldn’t it? 😉
S. E Kentucky seems to be the center of all the really bad climatic weather.
Models indicate snow/cold coming in one week.
Yes, lock it in. “Next week!” 🙂 Rodger in Dodger
I’m liking the ICON model myself. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Hopefully our New Year will bring us some frozen precipitation. We need a rest from all this rain.
Thank you Chris for your work and time you do for your blog. And thank you co-bloggers for your input.
We are closer to 80° than we are to 30°
The temps made it to 62 down here before they started going down.
rain rain go away come back as snow or stay away!
Couldn’t have put it better myself! 🙂
