Good Saturday everyone and thanks for visiting KWC. You should notice the problems with the site have been taken care of over the past couple of days. If you notice anything funky (besides your friendly weather-dude)… please let me know. It’s a typical summer weekend in Kentucky with heat and humidity abound. There is some good news and that comes in the form of an increase in showers and thunderstorms by Sunday. Yippee!

The short-term for this Saturday is for 90 or a smidge better in the west with upper 80s across the central and east. No one can hide from the high humidity levels. A couple of thunderstorms will develop through the day and one of these bad boys may be a little on the frisky side. Here’s your regional radar…

Showers and thunderstorms will try their best to become widespread Sunday into Sunday night. If we can get everything to come together… some areas could get in on a nice little soaking. The NAM is bullish on the storm chances..

Rain totals from the NAM…

The GFS is fairly similar. Thunderstorm action can obviously drop a lot more rain than the general rain forecast from any model.

Looking down the road…

– Temps soar for the first half of the week with 90s possible. High humidity levels will continue.

– I am liking the threat for thunderstorms and rain from Thursday into early next weekend.

– Those rain chances could be even better if some tropical moisture can get sucked up out of the Gulf.

– Cooler weather lurks for this time next weekend.

Have a wonderful Saturday and take care.
