Good afternoon, everyone. I don’t have much time, so this is going to be a super short update on the potential for a weekend winter weather system.
After being the only models not to see the Sunday winter possibility, the GFS family finally caved. Here’s a look at how the models are getting weaker with the Friday/Saturday system and stronger with the Sunday system…
New GFS
GFSI will have the latest on WKYT-TV starting at 4pm then on KWC this evening. Make it a good one and take care.
Likely our last decent chance for accumulating snow. And not much at that. Rodger in Dodger
Betting CB is weary of even putting a map out.
Already looks like an I-64 north event. Too dang warm in SE KY until later after the lousy front pushes the rain on through, at least this what looks to happen 4 days out.
It will be much further north than I64, take my word for it. The 64 corridor is a “designated no snow zone”.
I should clarify I-64 and north but west of Ashland. Seems like Lexington and especially north of the city is the usual area for systems like this with only moderate cold to work with.
All I know is I have a bold prediction for March, so I want a widespread 1 to 3, LOL!
I think I knew what you mean’t. And I hope you get your bold prediction. I am pretty certain I won’t get anything.
Have we really had any decent chances this yr?
Just the December SE KY bust. Really no threat here except that one BUST. We also had that late January winter storm watch that went dry but at least it fell apart before the actual event!
Euro was a nice hit for far southern eastern ky..Course who really cares at this point..lol..Want to see a stretch of nice weather with no precip what so ever..
Take that back..Was actually the GFS..
No, but somehow I can’t shake that the snow totals will be overstated, due to the border areas and higher elevations. From a total KY weighted standpoint, my guess is 3″ of snow total- if that. Richmond 6″ Wow! 😉 but that is not the whole state and that is rounding up.
On a nice side of weather I did reach a high of 62 today.
Was a beautiful day with one more to go!
