Good Thursday everyone. A surge of warm air is moving into the region today and this will hang around through the upcoming weekend. As has been the case all spring… anytime our temps warm… thunderstorms aren’t too far behind.

That is likely to be the case once again this weekend into early next week and some of these may be strong or severe.

Let’s get things started off on the right foot with the weather today. High’s will surge into the 70s under partly sunny skies. Our winds won’t be be as gusty as what we had Wednesday, when many areas hit 40mph. Still… we will have a warm and fairly windy day.

A weak front sag southward toward the region on Friday. This will be the focusing mechanism for scattered showers and thunderstorms… especially in the north and east. With this front in the general vicinity through Saturday… a couple of rounds of storms will be possible. Here is what we may be facing…

There is the threat for a few of these storms to be strong of severe and that’s something we will be watching for. Here is the latest Friday severe weather forecast from the Storm Prediction Center…

1730 UTC Day 2 Outlook

Highs Friday will generally be in the 70s with low 80s in the far south and west. Saturday should see similar results on your thermometer.

Sunday looks to be the best weather day as most areas hit the low 80s. Winds look to be very gusty as a huge low cranks up across the plains. This low will head toward the great lakes by Monday and this has the look of another big time severe weather outbreak for a lot of people from the midwest into the Ohio Valley.

1730 UTC Day 3 Outlook

Day 4-8 Convective Outlook

Even outside of thunderstorms… This will also be another major wind maker.

The pattern looks to remain VERY active with another severe threat by the end of next week. We have been warning you this spring would be on the hyper side and things appear to be kicking into high gear.

I will have updates as needed so check back. Have a great Thursday and take care.
