Good evening gang. The threat for severe weather is on the increase this evening into the overnight hours. We now have a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for much of central and northern Kentucky until 11pm. Damaging winds, large hail and torrential rains will be likely with some of the storms.
Here’s a look at the watch outline and the latest warnings…
Follow the storms on regional radar…
I will have updates as needed and will send out warnings via Twitter. Follow me @kentuckyweather .
Take care.
That radar is looking good!
Those storms north of Frankfort are trying their best to go around us!
Going to weaken and split. We’ll be scrawed in Lex.
In Morgan county, we are getting pounded by hail.

Rolo, you should stick with winter on-the-fly-casts….. Oh yeah, never mind 😉
Just funnin’
Wow, look at the system as it approaches Lexington. Looks like it is breaking up. Looks like a summer version of the snow dome.
We got plenty of it here in the masterson station area. Sounded like someone was stealing the siding off my house (wouldn’t put it past the roaming gangs of kids out here, so maybe I should go look)
Nothing but wind here in the Wyndham hills area, not a drop of rain even though the radar shows it should be pouring 🙁
Finally, I’m getting in Wyndham Hills area, so happy to see it.
It’s storming hard here just north of Hazard. My electricity went off once and came back on. Wow is all I have to say.
Good thing i watered the garden we missed out on the rain again
Power is now back on in downtown Salyersville.
LOTS of wind in Jessamine County/Nicholasville, but just a few sprinkles at my house, not even enough to get the pavement wet 🙁 Maybe tomorrow
