Good Thursday everyone and thanks for dropping KWC. This historic heat wave just will not end and it continues to blow up records across Kentucky. Many cities had their hottest 4th of July on record and more record highs will likely bite the dust today and Friday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will also be on the move and a few of these may be strong or severe.
Highs today will range from the upper 90s to low 100s and you can repeat that outlook for Friday. Tack on the humidity levels and it may feel as hot as 110 at times for some. That’s the type of stuff that can really do damage if you are outdoors for too long, so slow down and take it easy.
Showers and thunderstorms of the scattered variety will blow up both days with damaging winds and large hail a possibility.
A cold front finally sweeps in by Sunday with a little more pronounced threat for showers and storms. This front will send the core of the heat out west and we will finally see more normal temps around here into the first half of next week.
Let’s get busy tracking today’s heat and boomers…

Have a great Thursday and take care.
Going to have to watch to see where (if anywhere) in Kentucky the cumulus cloud bank develops today. Conditions are somewhat supportive of storms today, depending upon cloud coverage and formation.
