Good Sunday to one and all. Our day will start with a sloppy blanket of white across parts of the region as a spring snow system pulls away. If you think this is the end of the “uglies”… think again as this pattern for the next few weeks stinks.

I will get you some tracking toys to say goodbye to the snow here in a bit… let’s start out with a few words about the future.

– Once the snow moves out early today… skies will become partly sunny with temps returning to the low and mid 40s. Whatever snow falls outside your house won’t last long.

– Another weak system works eastward across the Tennessee Valley Monday bringing another round of chilly rain and some flakes. This will especially be the case across our southern counties.

– Next!!! One more weak low will take a similar track by the middle of the week with more of the same.

– Temps each day for the upcoming week will run WELL BELOW NORMAL.

– The colder than normal pattern will take us into the first week of April before some changes FINALLY begin to show up. This is the type of pattern that should snap out of the cold and go straight into a warm one for much of mid and late April.

– Noticing the amount of severe weather across the country over the past few weeks? This is likely a sign of things to come as I expect a hyper active severe weather season across the country and with the plains into the Ohio Valley being the prime target. We have already had a few decent severe weather outbreaks here and those are the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Back to the now and that includes the departing shield of snow. It is hard to get a lot of snow to stick this time of year and the majority of the accumulations to start the day will be on grassy and elevated surfaces. Some slick spots are likely on bridges and overpasses early today as temps will fall into the mid and upper 20s.

Follow the fleeting flakes here…
